My @Ventures

Yesterday, our office block had a blackout. Which means, we can't do anything for the rest of the day. Sucks huh. Anyway, that's not the main topic for this post.

Well, since Windmill asked, I thought I'll clarify here. Actually I've been wanting to do that for a while, but I just didn't get round to do it. So here it is:

I'm hoping that this blog, with the title My @Ventures, will be my first stepping stone towards making my dreams come true. I intend to make a (few) business venture(s), with my hobby (crafting) as the basic foundation. This blog will be some kind of a mirror to my adventurous journey towards that goal.

So what are my dreams?
1. To have a (chain of) craft supplies shop, where I will provide free craft lessons to attract people. The target customers will be housewifes who have too many free time in their hands or those who would like to earn some extra from crafting.
2. To have an online shop (maybe on Etsy) to sell some Indonesian crafting supplies/materials (or maybe even some of my work) to the international crafting world.
3. To have a home manufacturing industry which is labour intensive, where I'll employ many people to make craft products. (The main purpose is to reduce unemployed people, though I think Indonesia got too many. In my opinion, some of them should be banned from having any children at all.)

Okay, so now you know. Anyone would like to join me?
I'd also like to know what kind of things would you like to buy from Indonesia? Please give me some input regarding this.

Yayyy! Melisa,

Convert your dreams into reality.
Take baby steps into an unknown territory.

I know of a humanitarian who has a well established "business" in Vietnam. He started small. His aim was to provide Vietnamese women an alternative in their lives.

Now, their business is of a size to reckon with and orders from various parts of the World keep pouring in.

Their "business"? They create all kinds of ornament items that one would like to cheer up their rooms, or their halls, or their office desks, et cetera, et cetera...

Think along such lines. We can always learn from those who succeed.

From what I know, and I learned about it from a friend of mine here who runs a Gift Shop, this is a huge and a thriving and unsatiable business.

As the younger generation becomes more and more liberated (with $$$), they are more into gift fads and filling their boredom by buying and collecting these items.

GO girl GO !

I was wondering when this would happen.

I would start out eBay...like I stated before, your very talented and there's always a market for anything...especially if it is genuine, which is what you do!

Thank you Windmill! Thank you A!
Thank you for all of your support!

Well, I think the most important first thing I have to do is hone my crafting skills. These days I only do them at night and during some of the weekends.

And I need to get a paypal account too. ;)
