Coral Brooch
I can't believe I missed posting this into my blog!
I was looking for the post with this picture and I just can't find it, so I must have forgotten. It was made in January btw.
Anyway, this is the third hyperbolic brooch I've made. This time it's in blue and yellow. I simply love experimenting with different colour combinations.
What's your favourite colour combination?

Back With More Stuff
Hi there people! I'm sorry for the very very slow update recently.
As I've said before, I'm kind of avoiding the comp, especially the internet.
Obviously because I feel that every minute I spend surfing, it is unproductive time.
And these days my comp are kind of sickly, so I imagine that the more I use it, the closer it gets to doomsday. I need to buy an external HDD for my laptop, because the internal one is almost full and I definitely can't decide what to delete. I did burn the data into DVD, but it's unpractical. Mostly because my DVD-ROM is really slow and it would take forever to see what I want to see.
Alright, enough talk. Now it's time for pictures!!
This one you've seen in the previous post. I decided to change the black string into a long crocheted chain using the same blue yarn. It turns out to be very much better as it is stronger and closes the top more tightly.

This next one was made using a variation of the same pattern as above. At first I intended to make a name card case but I realized too late that it's too wide. And of course I didn't want to redo the whole thing again so I went ahead and finished it. There are many uses for a pouch like this anyway.

I made this a while ago. It is simply a smaller version of the curlies you've seen floating around in my blog. I think it is more suitable for earrings than the big ones I usually use for keychains.
I also totally love how the colors matched between the pair unpurposefully. Usually these multicolored yarns turns out different every time.

Lastly, the usual kind of curlies, but made with cotton yarn. I just wanted to try and see how it turns out. I suppose it's fine.

Btw, I used a white towel for the background of these photos. Just wanted to try something new. I think it's interesting. Don't you agree?

Hyperbolic Curlies
These are what I've been making recently, after I got tired of sewing alphabets.
And in case you're wondering where I've been, I've been on an internet diet. I realize that once I connected, I can't tear my eyes away from the screen, so I better not turn the comp on at all, so that I can be more productive.
Are they cute or what???
I like them so much, they're so versatile, can be used for so many things.
For example, earrings, knitting stitch markers, cell phone charms, or simply ordinary key chains.
Any more ideas?
As for now, I have 9 colours.

As you can see, I can even add a bell to it.

This is the current knitting project that I have on my needles. Only a few rows done. I accidentally left my pattern book in my boyfriend's bag.
Really, having these cute things on my knitting needles will make me feel happy just looking at them. They're so lightweight too, can barely feel them.

Do you like them?
It's silly love, but they can always lift my heart.

Recent Favourites
It should be obvious by now, I'm crazy about hyperbolic crochet. Hence I made another hyperbolic brooch, this time orange and blue. (Hey, it rhymes! lol)

Now, what I wouldn't do for my beloved customers. Someone over at my online shop asked me if I can make a baby boy. So of course I said yes. And here is what I've made:

Next, a cross-stitch of Mario's Mushroom. Framed in a puzzle-looking plastic frame.
(It is something I've been wanting to do for a while, so happy to finally have the time to actually do it!)

It is available in blue, green, red and yellow.
Hope you like them!

Odds and Ends
Just some pictures of the latest things I made.
A few flowers... The left one is a combo of blue and purple. The right is orange and white.
Pattern here.

A hyperbolic brooch. Yellow and purple. My personal favourite colour combination.

A grey headband with large beads and black pigtails. Suitable for kids. (Maybe not grey though, but I just wanted to make a grey one.)

Anyone want one?
Anyway, I might write the pattern if enough people asks for it.
Edited to add: I've written the pattern, it is here. Enjoy!

Can you Guess what is it?
Okay Windmill, this one is for you.
This is what I came up with with the number SEVEN.
Do you like it? Is it like what you expected?
Just be honest with me.
I don't want to sell to anyone anything that don't really click with them.
As you can see, I've not cut the lifelines yet, so I can still change it if necessary.
It is only 9" wide and about 3" tall, so a bit smaller than what you asked.
Sorry that it is still rainbow-ish. Maybe I should have closed my eyes and pulled out any ball of yarn I touched instead. But thought that it would look ugly if the colours are too random.
Anyway, the story behind it is that the brown represents the soil, blue water, green grass, and the orange, red, yellow and purple represents flowers.
And when I looked at it, it kind of reminds me of the dessert Ice Kachang. The brown can be chocolate condensed milk, blue ice, green syrup, orange jelly, red kacang, yellow and purple I don't know, more syrup maybe?
Or, it can be a sombero.
Or, when people asks what is it, you can simply say that it is a physical representation of a circular hyperbolic structure with n=7. Which means that I increased the stitch by one every seventh stitch. It is made with seven beginning stitch in the round, seven rows of brown, six rows of blue, five rows of green, four rows of orange, three rows of red, two rows of yellow, and one row of purple.

Hyperbolic Earth
Hi people, I hope you've been wondering where I've been last week. I was down with gastric pain for the whole week.
Well, I did a few things while I was in bed, but the next one I'm going to show you was actually made a few weeks ago. I just didn't take a photo till recently.
Well, the reason I named it Earth is of course, obviously because it is blue and green. In fact, it is the first crocheted item ever that I made by using 2 threads at the same time. (And now I'm hooked with colour mixing, as you shall see.)
I did this over a few weeks actually. On and off, in between doing other stuff. Hence, I forgot how many increase I did for this one. I think it changed a few times, ending with an increase every second stitch. Oh well, it is looking quite good anyway. lol

Tutorial: Hyperbolic Crochet
Someone over at craftster asks me for a simpler way of explaining how to do a hyperbolic crochet so here it is!
So, what I did was:
1. 6sc into magic ring, or ch 2 and 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (whichever you prefer).
2. Do [1sc in next 2 stitches, 2sc in next 1 stitches] all the way until the size wanted (I did 15 rows approximately).
3. Change colour and do [2sc in next stitches] ONE round.
I hope it is clear enough.
Note: The possibility of Hyperbolic crochet is endless. You can do increase in every 2, in every 4, in every 10, 20, or 17, or whatever number you want. Or change the number of beginning sc in the ring.
PS. "approximately" is the beauty of hyperbolic crochet, I love the fact that we don't have to keep tab on how many rounds we've done, and simply do the same routine over and over again as much as we like.
Little warning: I used a very very thin yarn for this (I don't know what's the usual name for this yarn). Hence it is only a few inches wide. I don't know how big it'll be if you use a thick yarn.

Red Hyperbolic Green Pencil Cover
I'm not good at making up names don't I? They're all just a description of the object.
Anyway, check out my new creation: a pencil cover! And being lazy me, I didn't want to make a flower or anything complex. So what did I do? I did hyperbolic. Yey! Hyperbolic is so easy and beautiful too! I'm totally in love with hyperbolic crocheting.

I even made a CAP for the pencil. So that it won't dirty my bag/pencil case.

So what do you think?

Green Crocheted Coral
I just had to finish this last night, pushed myself till I fell asleep with my crochet hook in my hand. So I completed the last stitches this morning.
I'm so totally in love with how it turns out. Makes me feel happy just by looking at it.

Before I crocheted the light green onto it:

Experimenting with different colour backgrounds:

Which is better?

New Love: Hyperbolic Crochet
I got the idea from Nettie (Quoin in flickr) and from there she directed me to The Institute For Figuring. You can see some cool croheted corals and hyperbolic models in there.
These are some that I came up with while trying to figure out how they made those really cool stuff I saw in their gallery. Do you think you'll want some big models of these as a decoration in your homes?

Increase in every stitch:

Increase every two stitches:

Increase every three stitches:

I made them into key chains!

I intend to make lots of them and give them away to some people I know.
I just found that there's an Hyperbolic Crochet pool in flickr! How wonderful!!! I think it's sooo cool.
