Sweet Headband

I fell in love with the pattern of this headband right away and I just have to make one. So here it is! Made in just one night.

Just instead of plain red, I used the yarn with red-dark red colour combination.
Totally love it!

Here's the pattern.

Rising Model?

My dear cousin, Meilina, has agreed to model my headbands yesterday. We were all at my grandmother's house for the Chinese New Year.

Ain't she pretty? :D

I'm not suitable to model headbands, since my hair is short and my forehead is big. lol!

Shell Headband

I made this last week. When I decided on the colours, I knew right away that I want to make this pattern.

Close up. (Did I mention how I love the macro flower? :D )

I always put a piece of elastic at the back of the headbands I make. Since the headband itself is not stretchable. And it makes it easier to set the length of the headband.

I totally love how it turns out. What do you think?

New Yarn = More Variety

I just recently bought some new yarns, and this one is a local cotton yarn that is commonly used by Indonesian crocheters/knitters. As for me, this is the first time I ever got hold of this type of yarn.

Personally, I really really love the colours. But turns out it's not really easy on the hands. Just holding the work is hurting my fingers. Maybe it is not quite suitable for patterns that need a tight tension.

Anyway, the moment I laid my eyes on this yarn, I immediately remembered this headband pattern I saw a while back. I think it's really meant to be. I absolutely absolutely love it!

More Headbands

I got another order for headbands...

Seems that it's one of the most popular things that people like to buy for their girls.

The pink flowers headband is the same as the previous one...

I made the stars headband different, taking the opportunity to try some other patterns.
What do you think? Is it better or worse than the previous one?

Headbands Update

If you've seen my post a few weeks ago, you'd have seen these headbands.

Here are the photos of the finished results.

The flower headband together with the yellow butterfly (pattern here). The butterfly is actually a brooch. So it can be easily taken off and moved around as wanted.

This next one, I said that it looks like a fire. Now, posed like this, if only the middle colour is white instead of yellow, it could easily be a row of teeth. Even the red already looks like the gum. Hmm, seems to be a very interesting idea....

Lastly, check out my latest creation! I'm calling it the Assemblage Headband. Yup, all these stars are brooches/pins. You can easily mix and match, move them around, whatever. You'll get a different design every time. As for the base, I simply made a few rows of dc.
Ingenious or what?

Alright, now I wanna share with you my favourite star pattern out of those I've tried while making the above. It is here.

Ideas for a Headband

So these are some headbands that I came up with when someone asked me for a 'bright and cheery headbands for a baby'.
The first one is a pink flower chain.

The second one is just a simple yellow orange ripple. I was thinking of the sun when I made it.

This is the same as above, except for an extra row of red. I think it's kind of cool, looking like fire.

This next one is a pig face FYI. Don't know whether it is recognizable enough. It can be made into a headband too, if I make a few and join them up together. Or simply make it into a brooch.
It's just that, I'm not really satisfied with how it turns out. Personally, I like the ears, but the face is kind of ugly. Maybe I should've used felt circles for the nose instead.

Well, seems that my quest is not over yet. I still got at least one more headband to think up.
Something with butterflies, or bees, stars, moons, hearts, dogs, or cows.
Actually I can simply make some hearts and join them together, but it'll be my last resort. Cos I don't really like sewing pieces, tucking in the ends is a nightmare. Just like the flower chain.

PLEASE, if you have a pattern containing one or more of the above, or an idea to share, do tell me.

Odds and Ends

Just some pictures of the latest things I made.

A few flowers... The left one is a combo of blue and purple. The right is orange and white.
Pattern here.

A hyperbolic brooch. Yellow and purple. My personal favourite colour combination.

A grey headband with large beads and black pigtails. Suitable for kids. (Maybe not grey though, but I just wanted to make a grey one.)

Anyone want one?
Anyway, I might write the pattern if enough people asks for it.

Edited to add: I've written the pattern, it is here. Enjoy!

A Headband

Made this headband. Because someone over at multiply asked me if I can make one. And of course, I told her I have not made one before. So I tried to make one. And who knows? It turns out to be something.
At least it can keep the hair off my face. And who knew the rubber tape I bought came in handy? :D
