I Love You Bracelet

If you remember the bracelet on the right, I made it last month.
And then a few days ago I decided to make the bigger version of it, because I thought that some people would want it that way.
I asked my bf to model the bracelet for me. Because of course, it's too big for me and looks funny when I wear it. :)

Purple and Yellow

So here is another keychain made using rows of sc and cross-stitched.
The difference is, I crocheted the even rows backwards after I turned the work instead of reattaching the yarn to the beginning of every new row like I used to do. Thank you to the wonderful method of fillet crochet.
This is the second time I did this method, the first one was the bracelet at the previous post. At the beginning it was hard to do, but after this second one, I think I've got the hang of it.

I like making keychains like this, mostly because I feel that people really needs a practical keychain that you can tuck in your pocket without it bulging your pocket too much and digging into your thighs when you sit down.

Hmm, I don't know why I like to combine purple and yellow together. I think it's because I had a purple shirt with a yellow collar once. Since then, I always think that purple belongs with yellow.
Do you think it's a weird colour combination?
Another one of my favourite colour combination is blue and orange. I do like clashing colours, and my colour sense is rather whacko, but I hope you like the things I've made!

Cross Stitch Experiment

I know, I'm way behind on updating my blog. And not because I've nothing to update. In fact, I've been doing too many things recently that I have a whole bunch of photos lining up to be edited and uploaded. And I don't know why, most of time I feel reluctant to edit the photos and I procrastinate.

A good example are these next photos. They've been sitting in my drafts for a few days now. And actually I made this thing many many months ago. But it's only recently that I've decided I'm not going to continue it.

The original idea was to use the cross stitch fabric as a guide to create the pattern at the front of the felt. But it turns out that when you stick the needle into the felt, it won't go in straight.

As you can see, the result is not neat, and the perfectionist in me was already screaming from disapproval. (Well, maybe the picture will look okay when it's finished, but for now, I suppose I won't know.)

This is how it looks like from the back.

Of course, some people would disagree with me about the irregularity of the x-stitches, but for now, this shall be one of my ideas that will be kept in a box and not be attempted anymore for a long long while.

Keychain for My Dear

See what I've made for my boyfriend. Now he's using it for his motorcycle key!
It's quite perfect I think. It's soft, so it can fit in his pocket easily, and if it's dirty, it's washable too!
And the best part is, he'll bring it wherever he goes. ;D

Behold Mario!

I did play the Mario games when I was a kid. I forgot which version though. A bit of each I think. Except for the rpg kind. You know, making these cross stitches made me feel kind of nostalgic.

Btw, I didn't intend to have a red theme for the cross-stitches from the beginning. It simply happens. Started from the red mushroom. Then the red bug. Next is the shyguy. And lastly, the little Mario. Yup, I like the chibi Mario better. They're so cute.

Below here, are two of the Mario patterns I've made. I'm posting them here especially for you, as part of my graduation celebration. I didn't have time to make them yet, so if you've made either one or both of the patterns, please let me know.

Enjoy!

When Crochet meets Cross-stitch

This is the result:

It is multi-purpose too! Can be used for phone charm, or key chain, or just an extra large brooch.

And so it is also how my blog banner came about. Finally! A blog banner that is me. I've been wanting to have a banner that is original, and personal. This is absolutely IT.
I'm sooo glad I got this idea, took me only a few hours to make too.

It's not really artistic, not too great, a bit plain maybe, but it's the best I can come up with at the moment.

Recent Favourites

It should be obvious by now, I'm crazy about hyperbolic crochet. Hence I made another hyperbolic brooch, this time orange and blue. (Hey, it rhymes! lol)

Now, what I wouldn't do for my beloved customers. Someone over at my online shop asked me if I can make a baby boy. So of course I said yes. And here is what I've made:

Next, a cross-stitch of Mario's Mushroom. Framed in a puzzle-looking plastic frame.
(It is something I've been wanting to do for a while, so happy to finally have the time to actually do it!)

It is available in blue, green, red and yellow.

Hope you like them!

Be Still

"Be Still" means: STOP whatever you're doing right now, take a deep conscious breath, be aware of your surroundings, clear off your mind, and be at peace.
I made this to remind me, so that each time I look at it I will take a short break from whatever I am doing, and thank God for this beautiful wonderful moment.
This is part of the phrase “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).
It simply means, if you are still, as in simply taking/accepting the present moment as it is, at that moment, you will find peace, wherever and whenever you are.
I only understand this after I read the book 'A New Earth' by Eckhart Toole. In fact, the book made me understand a lot of things that Jesus said.
Go read it. If I say anything more it'll just be a repeat.

Puzzle Bobble Cross-stitch

Anyone knows / likes the game Puzzle Bobble?

I found the pattern for this somewhere in the web, but I forgot where.
Well, I guess credit goes to Nintendo for the game.
Anyway, I just have to make one.
Finished it in a few hours.
Final size: 2 x 3 cm2 / 1 x 1.5"

Added: I just bought this keychain a few days ago. I simply put in the cross-stitch I already made. Totally Love it.
Anyone want one?

Cross Stitch: Boy Angel

I did this a few years ago. In my early years of university. All I have to do now is buy a frame for it. Just didn't get around to buying it yet. Up till now...
