I made this doily using a pattern from a book I have. This is only half of the original pattern though. I decided to stop here because I liked how this looks like.
I used quite a thick yarn though, so it doesn't really look like a doily. I'm not sure what this is good for, but for now, it looks nice, so I suppose it's okay. Who knows, someone might thought of something and found a liking for it when she saw it.

It's nice! You could leave it like that and make an ornament or make a bunch and join them for a scarf or table runner.
Thanks! Unfortunately, the end result turns out to be quite stiff and coarse, even though the ball of yarn seems soft. So I suppose I gotta find another use for this yarn, and likewise use another type of yarn if I ever want to make this pattern again.
